Raw undeveloped land, whether forest, desert, or mountain; the burned aftermath of urban and forest fire, parking lots with surfaces too broken up to park anything on, derelict factories, auto salvage yards, the sites of demolition, and city landfills; these are where we count our breath. Society, knowing these places fight Perception will seek to create environments in their image.

In Ruins and wilderness there is something that is both instructive and nourishing. What this thing is can and should be created by Society. This waste is not a waste. In this aspect Ruins and Wilderness can be synthetic.

In Ruins it is all over before it starts. There is never any possibility of getting to first base. Nothing can get off the ground. In such surroundings the subject/object relationship is not possible. In Ruins no karma of any kind can be generated. In such locations action is not possible.

Perception is utilitarian. Ruins and Wilderness without alteration do not offer the least hint of utility. This frustrates Perception and affects the Mind. Ruins and Wilderness are the World sitting and counting its breath.
